Prairie Ridge High School is a public, four-year high school with enrollment of 1,504 students. In 2013, the school ranked in the country’s top 1,000 public high schools (34th in Illinois) by The Daily Beast/Newsweek. Located approximately 45 miles northwest
of Chicago, the school serves Crystal Lake, Prairie Grove, Bull Valley, Burton’s Bridge, Oakwood Hills, and Ridgefield. Prairie Ridge offers a comprehensive curriculum and extracurricular activities to help students expand their academic and social skills,
learn about themselves, engage in positive experiences, and be involved with community outreach. There are 24 different sports and more than 30 clubs and activities.

Prairie Ridge is one of four high schools within Community High School District 155. The district operates PR, Crystal Lake Central, Cary-Grove, Crystal Lake South, and an alternative campus, Haber Oaks. Enrollment includes approximately 6,750 students
from McHenry and Lake counties.
